A Race to the Finish!

Here we are!  One short week to move-in!!!  A bit bittersweet as I do love the building process and the creating and making of something unique and beautiful out of nothing.  However, I am very ready to be moved in and living in my home.

Over the past week, lots of loose ends have been tied up.  All the subs came back and finished up with light fixtures, sinks, toilets and faucets.  The inside of the house is finished, except for carpeting, which has been delayed a short bit.  On the outside, decking was finished, wood ceilings were put up and trimmed out, all exterior trim was done and the siding is almost done too.  The guys have had some good weather to work in, which we're all grateful for!  All inspections are finished except for the final occupancy inspection and permit, which will be done after the carpet is laid.

The pictures below are a bit of a mish-mash, but I wanted to capture all the last-minute goings on.  At one point, there were 11 guys working in the house on one day - crazy!  I think I'll wait to post any more updates until Angi takes some final photos with her big camera.  We'll do some before and after move-in shots, so the last post should be fun.  Well, probably not the last post...because there's still landscaping, porch rails, etc., etc., when the weather breaks and the ground thaws.

Cambria is Here!

We're almost done!!!  Countertops went in this past week and painting was finished.  Backsplash tile was finished and is so perfect.  The doors were hung and the hardware was started.  Closets built out.  I had a day of deliveries on Saturday: appliances and a bit of new furniture.

This week, we're getting light fixtures installed, plumbing fixtures and faucets installed and the guys will get back outside.  The following week, the carpet comes and we'll look to get the occupancy permit - then: move in!  Fingers crossed, it will be March 15th.

Angi and I have been amazed that all of the things I've chosen (and we've chosen together) have all come together in such a beautiful way.  I can hardly wait until I can take photos of the 100% completed space.

I met with the landscaper today and he has lots of amazing ideas for the outside - I can hardly wait until it's time to get started with that.

For now: here are the latest interior photos.

I love this sign!

That slab of stone was heavy!

But worth every ounce - I love it!

Perimeter Cambria...photo is a bit washed out, but it's the most gorgeous shade of charcoal....

Hardware started to go up.
