Wood Finished, Tile Started!

We had a a busy week and exciting weekend planning & throwing Sara's baby shower, which was so much fun!  However, that meant there wasn't much house-visiting in my schedule.  When we went for a little tour late on Saturday, I found that the wood floor is completed, as well as the stairwell.  They are both so gorgeous and much more beautiful than I could even imagine.  Today, the tile floors started and I already am in love with them as well!  All tiled floors will be the same.

Angi and I spent part of the day on Monday going around sourcing tile.  I think all decisions are finally made - fireplace sample below.  I think it's going to be perfect with the paint colors.

From garage entry looking through mudroom into kitchen...floor done!

Boots off now ;)

And finally - tile!  Simple, but fresh and lovely...yum!

More Trim!

This week saw almost all the wood flooring completed, which is beyond gorgeous.  Since the last post that showed the interior doors, those same doors have now been trimmed and look smashing!  I love love this trim package - and, of course, the carpenter is doing a fabulous job!

The rest of the work will go something like this:  finish trim, lay tile, final coat of paint, kitchen and bath cabinets and surfaces (SO excited for this part); and plumbing, HVAC and electrical finish work.  When the other subs are in the house, Mark will move outside and put up siding, decking, porch rails and ceilings on the porches.  We won't have concrete or probably screens until the weather breaks.

Look at these happy wood registers!  They'll get stained to match the floor, as will the handrail.

The trimmed-out hearth - so beautiful!

I heart this.

Floors-Day Two.

I went over to the house to see the flooring progress and could not resist posting more photos!  The flooring is so gorgeous but the real surprise is the hallway doors were hung today.  Wow!  They are soooo beautiful and the paint looks even more lovely now that there is some white to contrast it with.

Look at this clever thing...a happy little door switch for the linen closet.  A fun surprise Angi requested without my knowing!

Black hardware!  Can't wait to see plates and knobs installed.

Here's a snap of the powder room color...it didn't make it into the previous post with the other paint colors.

And this, another new word: skirt board.  I LOVE this!

Color, Floors, Doors.

After a few days away for some fun in the sun, I have lots of updates to share!

Last week, wall color started going up and I love it!  Although it's only primer right now, it should be very close to the end result.  It seems it's always a bit chancy to choose an entire room from a small paint sample, but I think we've done it.  All common areas and the basement are Wickham Gray by Benjamin Moore, which is the exact right thing.  The rest of the colors are in the grey/blue/green palette.

This week, the wood floor started - it's fantastic!  We chose to go with Chelsea Wood Flooring made in Michigan.  Happy to use a local company and happy ash is a reasonable option here.   And last, but certainly not least: the interior doors are starting to be hung.  We had lots of discussion over which doors would be right for this house and ended up with 5-panel doors.  They are so beautiful!!
